This course is designed to introduce pre-clinical students to the Emergency Department and Emergency Medicine. For a six week period, one evening per week, students will observe attendings and house staff in all phases of emergency care. Each student will be assigned to the Kings County Hospital/University Hospital of Brooklyn Emergency Departments. Students will also meet as a group, once a week to attend a one hour lecture and during the final week a 2-hour suture lab. This provides students with an appreciation of the full gamut of emergency medical care. Students may miss one lecture and must notify Ms. Tiesha Saunders before the missed lecture.
