Elective Scheduling Information

The Advanced Emergency Medicine Elective is a four-week rotation. As of spring 2025, we are provisionally accepting visiting medical students to rotate with us in person during the months of July, August, and September 2025. Student’s applying for a sub-specialty in EM have additional options. Visiting medical students who have completed their away rotation with us will be eligible for an electronic standardized letter of evaluation (eSLOE) for the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). 2025 Rotation Dates for Visiting Students

• July 7 to August 1
• August 4 to August 29
• September 1 to September 26

If accepted, students are responsible for securing their own housing. In some cases, we may be able to provide sublet housing through dorm services. Refer to the visiting student’s section for more information. Slots are extremely limited and are not guaranteed.

Please be aware that acceptance of an in-person visiting elective in emergency medicine will be provisional pending committee approval and NYC COVID-19 guidelines. The health requirements for visiting students, which will be monitored by Student Health Services, should include proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
